Don’t know how Unico implement quota on Squid Proxy. Unless can have more sophisticated quote solution, e.g, depends on different projects you are working, individuals can have different quote. This “one size fits all” solution seems more impracticable than achieving great cost savings.
The point I reckon is that the company should respect staff as professionals. The majority want to come to office and get job done, happily. Pay too much attention on those small issues really distract people from their work and will kill the free thinking, creation and productivity in work place definitely.
Things I I like to see is people know that a line over there, know that big brother is watching you, and you know you shouldn’t cross that line.
However, you don’t need to have to check how far away you from that line everyday…
