Another mystery of Apple revealed

February 22nd, 2012

Quite amazed when retrospect the first ever iPhone announced on January 9, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Steve Jobs took the stage at the 2007 Macworld Conference & Expo and just about 35 minutes into his presentation he said, “This is a day I have been looking forward to for two and a half years…” And at just about 9:42 a.m. Steve announced the iPhone.

Thus frozen in time is the near exact time the iPhone was officially announced.

History of Apple Inc.: In iPhone advertisements, why is the time always set to 9:42 a.m. on the clock?
Answer (1 of 2): Very little is left to randomness in Apple marketing.  In fact, a great deal of insight can be gathered from looking at things a little deeper and perhaps thinking different.

February 21st, 2012

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have been greatest used in Obama's presidential election. Good news is Obama team is still looking computing experts, mathematicians, programmers and statisticians.

The team's new chief scientist is Rayid Ghani said that the challenge was to make best use of the vast amounts of data available to campaigns on the actions, behaviour and preferences of voters. These days electoral rolls have been linked with commercially available consumer data, and names and addresses of voters are cross referenced with everything from magazine subscriptions and home ownership, to hunting licenses and credit scores.

Wishful thought that American have president election every year, so can create more I.T. jobs in U.S.

There was a sense that rather than pushing each other to new heights, Djokovic and…

There was a sense that rather than pushing each other to new heights, Djokovic and Nadal have taken tennis to new lows of grinding, inartistic "physicality."

Shout out for Double Ds, my tennis mentor:

How interesting, i had the thought at the start of the tournament that they (Aus Open organisers – Craig Tiley) had slowed the balls down too much, once you do that the modern athlete then dominates the conditions, by that i mean if the tennis ball is simply being from side to side and the ball is not moving that quickly, then the modern player can easily get to the ball then how do you hit a winner.

Both Nadal and Djockovic are the best athletes, no doubt, are they the best tennis players, maybe maybe not. that is the conundrum, is 6hrs better than 3 hours of brilliant tennis, we don't want tennis to turn into squash or racquet ball, that is my concern, big shots need to be rewarded as winners – not retrieved and floated back in play, guys don't come to the net as it is too hard, matches are now won on exhaustion, not tennis, there that is my opinion.

Best pure match of all time, 1 1/2 hours – us open McEnroe v Lendl, 3 sets of pure hitting by McEnroe.

February 20th, 2012

Several times a year, Berkshire Hathaway Chief Executive Warren Buffett invites business students from around the U.S. to Berkshire's headquarters in Omaha, Neb., for a daylong visit.

The ritual ends with a photo shoot. Each student is allowed to take two pictures with Mr. Buffett. The first one is a serious shot, followed by a funny pose of their choosing.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPad 3 at a media event on March 7, with the device also receiving an ultra high-resolution display – a full resolution of 2048×1536, exactly twice the linear resolution of the iPad 1 and iPad 2 which is 1024×768, and LTE capabilities. Other claims have suggested that it will carry a slightly more tapered case design and perhaps offer an 8-megapixel rear camera.

Phrase of the day – “What pulled Europe together was not coal and steel but fear of the Soviet Union.” Aviv Kochavi, director of Israeli military intelligence.

As Soviet Union was gone, the fear face is not a driving force behind Europe countries any more, how EU and Euro could unite European together?

A good example is British retreats into isolationism. As the old headline had it "Fog in channel; continent cut off".

February 16th, 2012

Google is likely to launch Android 5.0 (Jelly Bean) in the second quarter and appeal for adopting Android 5.0 and Windows 8 in the same tablet PC. Android 5.0 will be further optimized for tablet PCs, while Google will also integrate its Chrome system functions to push dual-operating system designs, with the ability to switch between the two OSes without the need to shut down the computer.
